- “Services”, we are referring to our Websites, App, and other related services, including any sales, marketing or events.
The purpose of this privacy policy is to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. If there are any terms in this privacy policy that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our Services immediately.
What information do we collect?
Byrdhouse must receive or collect some information to operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services, including when you install, access, or use our Services.
The types of information we receive and collect depend on how you use our Services. We require certain information to deliver our Services and without this we will not be able to provide our Services to you. For example, you must provide your mobile phone number to create an account to use our App.
Our Services have optional features which, if used by you, require us to collect additional information to provide such features. You will be notified of such a collection, as appropriate. If you choose not to provide the information needed to use a feature, you will be unable to use the feature. For example, you cannot invite friends if you do not permit us to access your phone contacts.
Personal information you disclose to us
- Basic account information. To create a Byrdhouse account, you provide your mobile number, your name, your email address, and may choose to provide a profile photo. Only other registered Byrdhouse users that already have your phone number in their phone’s address book or that you’ve invited to Byrdhouse may see your name, photo, mobile number, and email.
- Your captions and translations: we do not retain your captions and translations in the ordinary course of providing our Services to you. Once your captions and translations are delivered, they are deleted from our servers.
- We offer end-to-end encryption for our services. End-to-end encryption means that your video calls are encrypted to protect against us and third parties from reading them.
- Your contacts. You may choose to provide us with your friends' contact information as stored on your phone. Byrdhouse uses mobile phone numbers as unique identifiers so that it is easy for you to find and communicate with other people you know. We ask your permission for accessing your contacts. You can still use Byrdhouse if you deny the permission, but it will be difficult to find or invite people you know.
